The men and women who are so beautifully remembered here are truly a lost generation!Ī few tips: Be sure you take a picture of your license plate before leaving your car so you can enter that information at the parking meter. So many other establishments on Oahu offer it!Īll that being said, please make an effort to go see this memorial because it will influence your faith and understanding of America’s history. It is also ashamed that active duty/retired military receive no discount. Someone needs to realize the current system is broken. It is worse than trying to score Guardians of the Galaxy ride tickets at Disney World! Personally, I would love to see them open ticket sales 30 days in advance-much like the Library of Congress, etc. Pearl Harbor National Memorial should be on everyone who visits Oahu list! However, we were surprised this National Memorial doesn’t allow advanced booking until 3pm the day prior to your desired visit date (unless of course, you want to pay $100 or more and book thru a tour vendor.) Tickets sell out in less than one minute, which indicates to me an AI program (likely tour vendors) is running in the background sucking up all available slots. Do the Missouri tour with the nonprofit tour guides (no additional fee but optional when you get on the ship) - well worth the time and our guide (Duke) was a fun and phenomenal font of information. The USS Missouri was also a highlight - the (tween/teen) kids enjoyed it more.

We would have liked to see the movie beforehand but that didn’t seem possible absolutely worth seeing it after you return on the ferry.
About 100 people were allowed on the ferry from the standby line, including our 5. At 8:15 reservation line was allowed in and then they took standby for the 8:15 ferry to the memorial. We parked at PH at 7:50am and got in USS Arizona standby line at 8am. We tried online reservations the day before at 3p but weren’t able to get tix - and ended up being happy we didn’t bc going standby turned out to be easy for us and worked better for our schedule. For those who do not book tix 2 mos in advance, we were able to get standby tickets for the USS Arizona Memorial for a family of 5 in July.
